Case study
Single pond and slurry tanker, southern Tasmania
This system uses a single pond to catch all effluent and it is regularly emptied with a slurry tanker after mechanically stirring for 24 hours.
Pre treatment
At this stage the pond has been emptied but not stirred. What we are looking at is thick fresh crust with little liquid below it. Treatment was placed below the crust at this stage and the pond filled up as usual.
Pre treatment.
About two weeks later
About two weeks later when the pond needed emptied. Although there are still large amounts of solids present the surface crusting has been well and truly broken up.
Two weeks later.
